Jenny Slate
Jenny Slate is no stranger to television work, and can boast
appearances on "Saturday Night Live," "House of Lies," and "Parks and
Recreation." However, before that, Time Out New York magazine named her
two-person show with Gabe Liedman, "Big Terrific," as the best new
variety show of 2008.

Amy Schumer
Amy Schumer has her own television series called "Inside Amy
Schumer," and if you have not seen it yet, prepare yourself: Schumer may
look sweet and innocent, but her comedy is raunchy and raw. She started
doing stand-up in 2004, and rose to prominence after finishing fourth
place in NBC's "Last Comic Standing," and second place in Comedy
Central's "Reality Bites Back."

Chelsea Peretti
If you have not seen Chelsea Peretti at work, here is a short
list of reasons you should watch her: Variety magazine named here one of
"Ten Comics to Watch in 2010," she has worked as a writer on "Parks and
Recreation," and she is a series regular on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."
DID YOU KNOW?
Many comedians use Twitter as a
sounding board for their distinct brand of humor. Julieanne Smolinski
and Megan Amram are examples of two people who will put a smile on your
face every day if you follow them on the hugely popular social
networking site. Kat Dennings of "2 Broke Girls" also enjoys posting
barbed witticisms.

Emily Heller
Emily Heller has performed stand-up all over America, but lives
and works in San Francisco, where she is a regular on the San Francisco
Punch Line. She finished second in the 2009 Bay Area Laugh Leader, and
second in the 2009 San Francisco Women's Comedy Competition, making her
one of the best runners-up in the business.

Kulap Vilaysack
You are most likely to know Kulap for her role as Nurse Kulap on
Adult Swims' "Childrens Hospital." However, her talents do not end
there. Like many of her comedy contemporaries, she has worked on "Parks
and Recreation," and "Bob's Burgers." She is also the co-host on the
"Who Charted?" podcast.

June Diane Raphael
Even at the start of her career, June Raphael was making waves.
While performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York
City, her sketch show was an official selection for the 2005 U.S. Comedy
Arts Festival in Aspen, and she and her comedy partner, Casey Wilson,
won Best Comedy Duo at the Emerging Comics of New York (ECNY) Awards.
She subsequently co-hosts "How Did This Get Made?" with her funny-man
husband, Paul Scheer.

Kristen Schaal
Schaal is now famous for her television work, including
appearances on "Flight of the Conchords," but she was a huge success on
the comedy circuit before then. She exploded on the scene in 2006,
winning the award for Best Alternative Comedian at the 2006 HBO U.S.
Comedy Arts Festival, the second annual Andy Kaufman Award, Best Female
Stand-Up at the 2006 Nightlife Awards in New York, and Best Female
Stand-Up Comedian at the 2007 ECNY Awards.

Julieanne Smolinski
Julieanne Smolinski goes by the Twitter handle of BoobsRadley,
and if you are not a follower, you are missing some of the wittiest
one-liners on the Internet. For example: "Birds do it / Bees do it /
Even educated fleas do it / Let's do it / Let's terrify someone by
getting stuck in their hair."

Megan Amram
If you do not follow Megan Amram on Twitter, then you are
missing out on a real treat. As one of the writers for "Parks and
Recreation," she has an amazing way with words, and her one-line tweets
are darkly humorous and absurd, such as, "Drinking really helps calm the
social anxiety involved with driving a school bus."

Tig Notaro
Notaro started out as a band manager, but when her work took her
to Los Angeles, she tried doing stand-up for the first time. Despite
doctors diagnosing her with breast cancer in July 2012, and undergoing a
double mastectomy, her comedy has never missed a beat, with comedian
Louis C.K. referring to her as "masterful."
