LASU students protesters versus FASHOLA

The Lagos State Government has arrested 10 students of the Lagos State University (LASU) for protesting increment in tuition fee.

Recall that students of LASU on Tuesday embarked on protest in Lagos and were marching to Alausa, the seat of government to register their displeasure of the way and manner the state government was handling the issue when they were disbanded by the Nigerian Police Force.
President of Student Union, LASU, Mr. Nurudeem Yusuf told journalists in Lagos that the students were arrested after the peaceful protest by members of the Nigerian Police Force. He said some of the students were detained at Area F and Akinpelu Police Station, Oshodi.
Speaking to our correspondent in Lagos, Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Ms. Ngozi Braide said the students were arrested for embarking on violent protest and for threatening to burn down Oshodi.
Another student who confirmed the incident said eight students were arrested. He gave the names as Olamide Bolarinwa, Oludare Olayinka, Victoria Oni, Timilehin Fatukasi, Babatunde Bolarinwa, Taiwo Ajaye, Olatimihan Taiwo and Segun Akani.
We gathered that the eight have been charged before an Ikeja High Court.

Record breaker..... 13 yr old girl climbs mount Everest

Work-pics3325-300x225
A 13-year-old daughter of poor Indian farmers who became the youngest girl to climb Mount Everest said Wednesday that she “shed joyful tears” at the summit after a grueling climb across difficult terrain and personal fear.
Nepal requires climbers to be at least 16 years old to scale its peaks, but Malavath Poorna said she and a team of Nepalese guides climbed the 29,035-foot mountain on May 25 from the northern side in Tibet. There are no age restrictions in China.
“It was very difficult. Every step is a dangerous step,” a smiling Poorna told reporters in New Delhi, describing steep slopes, exposed rocks, deep crevasses and extreme cold that went below minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
At 10,830 feet, she said she saw “six dead bodies. I was shocked. Oh my god I got some fear.”
But she remembered her training and regained her confidence.
“When I reached the top of Everest, very good experience. I feel great and proud, and I shed joyful tears” as she looked around and saw “mighty mountains and morning sunlight,” she said in English, waving her hands expressively as she spoke.

The climb was verified by the China Tibet Mountaineering Association in Lhasa, making Malavath the youngest girl to climb Everest. American Jordan Romero, from Big Bear, California, became the youngest boy at age 13 to reach the summit – also from the Tibetan side — in 2010.
Malavath said her parents, impoverished farmers from the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, encouraged her during eight months of training despite the fact that she had never before been on a mountain. Her family are dalits, once known as “untouchables,” at the bottom of India’s ancient caste system.
The expedition was sponsored by the Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Educational Institution Society as part of its program to encourage and help underprivileged students in India

upcoming artist Ewa versus 2face idibia

Ewa
A new upcoming artiste, stage name Ewa has found herself in a controversy concerning a song “Crazy Love”. The song which Ewa claimed Tuface featured in did not actually have Tuface. In fact, Tuface camp has released a statement sayinh Ewa stole the song from Tubaba
 What Tuface Camp released below
“ The single is an illegal manipulation and super-imposition on 2Face’s unreleased song titled ‘Could This Be Love’. This odious and fraudulent act is not only condemnable but also an assault to the integrity of the entertainment industry which thrives on creativity and hard work.”
The press statement further threatened that 2Face “shall employ the full force of law to enforce the breach of his reproduction, publishing, performance, communication rights which have been breached” based on the “Copyright Act Cap C28, LFN 2004.”
When Ewa was contacted for her side of the story.According to a scoop we obtained from NigeriaFilms website, this is what she said below
“We can only apologise because 2Face has the right to the song and we were under the impression that it was an opportunity for us to buy the song (from him), but that (later) wasn’t the case,”
“The matter has been resolved between both parties,”
When asked if 2Face was in the studio with Ewa, the rep said,
“no, he (2Face) was never in the studio with us. We only used his part (voice) on the song, (which) done by the producers we worked with. They are actually our producers.” But when pressed to mention the names of the producers, he said, “I can’t mention their names, I am sorry about that.”
